Background and Goals

The International Dialogue on Population and Sustainable Development underlines the importance of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and population dynamics for achieving the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The International Dialogue on Population and Sustainable Development is an annual conference taking place in Berlin. Since 2002, it has been jointly organized by DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and KfW Entwicklungsbank in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Bayer AG.

The conference series is designed to encourage the exchange of best practice, information, and experience, and to facilitate the networking of national and international stakeholders. It has become one of the main forums to discuss issues related to sexual and reproductive health and rights and population dynamics.

The participation is by invitation only.
